On September 1, 2022, the President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of spatial development aligned with regional economic and social development. This collaboration involves three key organizations: the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC), and the Office of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA).

The purpose of this agreement is to coordinate regional science, research, and innovation plans (R-SRI) that align with the direction of regional economic development. It aims to promote awareness and understanding of the direction of regional economic development and guidelines for the development of regional R-SRI plans that are in line with the government’s policies and national strategies. The master plan is part of the national strategy, the national economic and social development plan, and the regional development plan. It also considers regional-level needs.
Within a two-year timeframe, RMUTP and other member universities under NSTDA will contribute their research and expertise in various areas to enhance the quality of life in the region. This includes agricultural transformation, local product processing, the Smart Farmer project, and the development of sustainable income-generating opportunities for older people and underprivileged individuals, creating an attractive and environmentally friendly living environment.
