The Health, Cosmetic and Anti-Aging Technology (HCAT), The Faculty of Science and Technology at Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), organized a training and practical course titled \u201cEssential Oil Extraction Techniques for Cosmetics and Health Applications.\u201d The course was inaugurated by Asst. Prof. Pennapa Suwanbamrung, Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology, on March 2, 2024, at the Faculty of Science and Technology, North Bangkok Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This training aims to provide participants with knowledge about essential oils, extraction methods, and practical skills in extracting essential oils from herbal plants or natural products using various solvents. The goal is to use these essential oils and hydrosols as raw materials in the development of cosmetics and health products effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training included the following topics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Techniques for extracting essential oils and hydrosols, led by Asst.Prof.Dr. Woravith Chansuvarn, Nanotechnology Development for Formulating Essential Oils in Cosmetic and Other Applications, led by Dr. Warayuth Sajomsang (Senior Researcher at the National Nanotechnology Center) and Antioxidant Activity Testing, led by Asst.Prof. Dr. Sirirat Panich. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants also practiced formulating shampoo products containing essential oils and hydrosols. The course attracted interest from various sectors, including government, private industry, students, and entrepreneurs interested in producing or developing essential oil-based products, with 25 participants in total.The HCAT program at the Faculty of Science and Technology aims to produce highly skilled graduates in (Health, Cosmetic and Anti-Aging Technology), recognized internationally. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 It seeks to develop graduates as researchers, product developers, and innovators to meet the demands of both domestic and international job markets, enhance modern marketing knowledge, and foster entrepreneurship. Applications for new students for the academic year 2024 are now open, with the program designed to be completed in 3.5 years.
